Great Handbook!

I'm currently doing my externship in Radiography. Now is when I'm putting all of what I learned (back at school) to practical use out in the field.
This pocket handbook has been so helpful during this time - it has all of the important info that I need. All of the positions that I learned from the Bontrager's textbook are here. The book is ruggedly constructed, well organized, yet small enough to slip into a pocket.

Purchasing it was simple with Amazon.com - their price was by far the best and their service outstanding! Even though I chose the "free shipping" option, my package arrived quickly - well before the expected delivery date.

I'm quite happy with my decision to purchase this helpful reference guide from Amazon.

Love, Love, Love this book!

I love this book! A few of us have it in our department and keep it available in select rooms. It's a great quick reference to keep by the xray machine. I use mine at least once a week for exams we don't perform as often, that I need a quick refreshing on (usually for central ray and angle). It has all the standard views and a few not so standard views. It has most of what you would need on a daily basis. There are also areas to write techniques down that worked well for you. Every xray dept should have at least one of these.

Great - Better than Mini-Merrils

My school used Merrils for positioning, but Bontrager gives me more. It shoes blocker and marker placement. It gives an outline of the anatomy and centering points in the beginning of each section. It outlines centering points on the model (iliac crest) that you can't see.

The only thing I wish it would include is evaluation criteria and perhaps a photo of the radiograph, but I guess that would make the book bigger.

All in all, a great studying/learning tool.

beautiful book.. Dianna Aston is eloquent.

Dianna Aston has a way of taking those deep, overwhelming, and beautiful feelings that a person experiences when a child is born, and lays them out on the page with such delicate precision. I'm in Awe. Reading this book brought me back to that place of wonder. The words are magnified by E. B. Lewis's Illustrations. The soft pallet he chose, along with the graceful fluid movements of his brush, propels the story of pure love. Text and Illustration, both graceful and splendid. It is a treasure for the soul.

This book is the most eloquent and beautiful children's book on the birth of a new baby. What an amazing gift this would make for a new baby! We have read ours many times and everyone in our home treasures it.

Too personal

I returned this book because it seemed to be about the author's personal experience when her grandchild was born. She mentions the child's uncle, the neighbors coming to visit and talking about their own baby's births, and other members of her grandchild's family. I felt it didn't focus on the baby and family you were intending the book for, but rather, on the author's own grandchild. My thought was, suppose the child you're buying the book for doesn't have an uncle, or grandfather? I did read someone else's review and that person mentioned the same thing. However, I felt it would be ok, despite what she said. Now, I have to agree with her.

Simon Haines was born and raised in Somerset. After almost two decades years away from the county studying and teaching Archaeology, History, and English as a Foreign Language at universities elsewhere in the UK and in Central Europe he has recently returned to live and work in rural Somerset. The vintage images included in this volume have been sourced from his extensive archive of over ten thousand historic glass plate negatives and images of the West of England, and former German territories in present-day Poland. He is the author of Taunton Through Time and Minehead & Dunster Through Time.

All the sections of the exams are covered VERY nicely. There are PLENTY of interesting exercises with LOTS of images and listening tapes.
And there is a language reference section that explains pretty much all the grammar rules you need to know to pass the exam.
Go and get it if you can because I'm sure I'll be able to pass the exam with it. I have just ordered the workbook as well to maximise my practicing.

The only launch vehicle in history to transport astronauts beyond Low Earth Orbit, the Saturn V delivered 24 men to the moon. To this day it holds records as the tallest (363 feet), heaviest (nearly 7 million lbs.) and most powerful (over 7.6 million pounds-force of thrust) launch vehicle ever produced. It also remains one of the most reliable, achieving 12 successful launches with one partial failure ― the unmanned Apollo 6 which suffered vibration damage on lift-off, resulting in a sub-standard orbit. The Saturn series of rockets resulted from Von Braun’s work on the German V-2 and Jupiter series rockets. The Saturn I, a 2-stage liquid-fueled rocket, flew ten times between 1961 and 1965. A uprated version the 1B carried the first crewed Apollo flight into orbit in 1968. The Saturn V, which first flew in 1967, was a three-stage rocket. The first stage, which burned RP-1 and LOX, consisted of five F-1 engines. The second stage used five J-2 engines which burned LOX and liquid hydrogen (LH2). The third stage, based on the second stage of the Saturn 1B, carried a single J-2. The Saturn V could carry up to 262,000 pounds to Low Earth Orbit and more critically, 100,000 pounds to the Moon. Created by NASA as a single-source reference as to the characteristics and functions of the Saturn V, this manual was standard issue to the astronauts of the Apollo and Skylab eras. It contains information about the Saturn V system, range safety and instrumentation, monitoring and control, prelaunch events, and pogo oscillations. It provides a fascinating overview of the rocket that made “one giant leap for mankind” possible.

Excellent deep over view of The Saturn Five plus

I am an Aerospace Engineer that worked on the Apollo program at the Kennedy Space Center starting since 1970. I have a copy of the original NASA document that was the basis for this book. I can verify this this book is a very good reference book for the Saturn Five vehicle as well as the Apollo Spacecraft and the KSC facilities which were used to prepare the vehicle for flight. I am currently a Docent volunteer at the Kennedy Space Center Apollo Saturn Five rocket. I take my document with me to verify or refresh my memory while I am performing my Docent function.

Flight manual covers Apollo 8 launch vehicle

This flight manual covers the configuration for Saturn V launch vehicle SA-503, flown for the Apollo 8 mission. All the Saturn Vs flown and currently on static display have minor internal and external variations for each launch. For example, the ullage rocket fairings on the S-IC/S-II interstage (first/second stage) were originally 8 on the first two flight vehicles (Apollos 4 and 6 (SA-501-502)), then reduced to 4 for Apollos 8-14 (SA-503-509), and removed completely for Apollos 15-17 and Skylab 1 (SA-510 throug SA-513; 514 and 515 never flew and became static displays). It won't detract the casual reader at all, and it is recommended for any space buff's library.

Learn all about the thousands and thousands of systems that made the Saturn V the most powerful and amazing rocket in history. Nothing else I have found comes close so if you want to know what the Apollo astronauts had to learn then this is the book for you!

"Genuine Ford parts are sold at prices as low as is consistent with high quality. It is false economy to buy imitation parts at cheap prices both from a standpoint of serviceability and the possibility of endangering life and limb as a result of using inferior materials.

"If you do not do your own repairing, make sure that genuine Ford parts are used in repairing your car by taking it to an authorized Ford dealer or service station to have the work done."

Henrky Ford: A complex man

This book focused less on Henry Ford's accomplishments and a LOT more on the subject of his precieved 'Jewish problem'. While there were some interesting insights into his philosophy of work, life and sense of 'duty', a large part of this book seemed focused on dispelling the notion that he was anti-semitic. A disappointing read.
