A Must Read for Everyone

Robert Bruce’s book, Astral Dynamics: The Complete Book Of Out-Of-Body Experience, is the second edition of his groundbreaking book, Astral Dynamics published in 1999. Both books are veritable bibles of out-of-body experience and cover the subject in incredible detail. Bruce’s book is about how to visit the astral planes and what one will find there, if “there” is the correct term. Astral Dynamics is a step by step guide on how to achieve a controlled out-of-body experience (OBE) that according to Bruce is achievable by virtually everyone. He not only tells you how to get there, Bruce guides you over the pitfalls and describes the wondrous sights ahead.
Basic Themes:
Bruce begins by describing the anatomy of consciousness and why OBE’s are even possible. He describes the various zones that make up the other dimensions starting with the “real-time zone” which exists just next to the physical world and shares some physical traits with it. He goes on to the deepest planes in the Astral zones.
The “projectable double” is Bruce’s term for the part of us that actually does the OBE. Bruce provides a thorough anatomy of the human energy body and why we can have an OBE. His detailed description includes the three basic aspects of the projectable double. He goes on to explain that children and animals project regularly and naturally and that some people are forcefully projected in near death experiences.
Bruce covers the mind split phenomena that occurs during an OBE and the difficulty of retaining a memory of the experience upon awakening. Astral sight is discussed in detail along with methods to control this sometimes difficult phenomenon. The issue of waking paralysis is covered. At the end of part one Bruce writes of the Higher Self and how affirmations can be used to elicit an OBE.
The second part of the book concerns the energy body, its anatomy and how to enhance one's energy body. Bruce provides detailed instructions on exercises that enhance one's ability to do energy work through tactile imaging. This section is unique to Bruce and he elucidates the development of energy work to a fine degree reminiscent of the ancient Chinese masters and their descriptions of Qigong energy development. Bruce covers possible problems one may encounter during energy work and how to fix them.
The third section of this work covers core skills used in the attainment of an OBE. Bruce speaks of relaxation techniques, controlling the ever chaotic mind and achieving the altered state. His detail makes it easy for anyone to have this interesting experience.
The fourth section covers how to prepare for the OBE experience and what one will actually experience when going into the OBE. Exercises that enhance the ability to have an OBE and detailed techniques are discussed. Bruce also talks about the problem of suddenly exiting the OBE without intending to do so. Another difficulty he discusses is the issue of the mind-split. The mind-split makes it difficult to remember the shadow memories of the OBE. We all have OBEs but do not remember them because of the difficulty of retaining the shadow memory.
Bruce goes on to describe the astral form when it is in motion. This presents some interesting phenomena when compared to physical motion. It is as though one has to relearn how to move in the astral form. Along with learning how to walk, one must learn how to fly and pass through solid matter. Distance is not an issue and can be traversed at will. Even going to other planets is possible.
The fifth part of Bruce's book talks about the Akashic connection. Since the astral planes are unknown to our conscious minds, navigating while in the OBE is confusing and sometimes scary. The structure of the astral planes and their relationship to universal consciousness are discussed in detail. This gives the OBE traveler some sign posts to navigate by. The concept of energy cords and how the projected body is connected to the physical body are discussed.
The Akashic records appear to be a recording of all information past, present and future. They can be accessed in an OBE as well as by persons with clairvoyant and psychic abilities. Bruce discusses how to access these records and how to find what you are looking for.
Part six covers strange astral phenomena. Bruce talks about reality fluctuations, confusing effects, melting body parts and vision reversal. Higher dimensional levels and their aspects are discussed along with astral beings and wildlife. The issue of fear during an OBE is discussed as well as how to handle it.
Writing Style:
Robert Bruce has a gift in his ability to take nebulous ideas and express them in a manner anyone can understand. His task is especially difficult with this subject matter. Bruce takes concepts that exist beyond the average person’s experience and expresses them in a way that makes us want to experience the astral realms through an OBE.
Who Should Read This Book:
This book should be read by several groups of people. Healers will find the information especially useful to expand their understanding of the energetic levels and how to expand their sensitivity. The person interested in out of body experiences will find it an absolute necessity. This book is enlightening and encouraging. It expands one’s concept of reality and opens the door to spiritual expansion. We are all part of a single reality, and Bruce’s illumination on the subject makes one feel connected to the universe and the warmth and promise it has to offer.
I love the fact that Bruce takes the spiritual and gives concrete instructions on how to enhance one’s ability to perceive the spiritual. The illustrations are very informative and clarify concepts that are difficult to envision. The illustrations themselves are works of art by anyone’s estimation. What I like most is the step by step manner Bruce presents his material to make it simple to understand and follow.
Astral Dynamics: The Complete Book Of Out-Of-Body Experience lives up to its title. It is definitely a complete and thorough guide to developing one’s energy and perception in order to experience an out of body experience. It is also a wonderful guide through the spiritual realm.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. If even the strictest skeptic would follow the instructions provided in this book, they would become believers in mankind’s infinite nature.

*The* Definitive book on OBE's

Ever since I was 10 and read about Nostradamus practicing astral projection, the subject has fascinated me. Throughout my teens I read several books regarding the practice and always attempted - with little success to exit my body. The problem with these works was that for every 100 pages on theory there would be 1 page of tecnique, which said little more than 'imagine standing outside of your body'. When I found Robert Bruce's work, those figures were reversed and all written content was what you needed to do and why, in concise step by step points. This work was Astral Dynamics, and is imo the greatest book there is on OBE's.
Robert brings OBE's out of the esoteric and into the logical and scientific, and explains in simple terms what one needs to do in order to leave their body. Deep physical relaxation, a clear mind, and an exit tecnique Bruce says are key, and he takes you through these neccesary skills in a down to earth, non-mystical way.
On top of this, Bruce developed a unique energy development tool not unlike the ancient systems of the east, but much more modern, accessable, and without the baggage of thousands of years of tradition. New energy ways, or NEW as he calls it, is something anyone can try and feel results with in 5 minutes, and whether one's even into OBE's, NEW is something they could benefit from, by connecting to the subtle layers of ones being usually reserved for yoga masters or high level martial artists. Its exactly the kind of information our materially-driven society needs.
Several weeks of practicing NEW bought me a gamut of fascinating experiences from body vibrations, deep states of trance and strobing lights behind my closed eyes; all of which furthered my understanding of how natural a thing OBE is. And since that time, any OBE's I have had, I've always referred back to Roberts work in order to make sense of what was happening, such as the melting hands phenomena when one looks at their hands whilst out of body.
So if you want to develop OBE, using NEW is an excellent tool. No other literature on the subject had ever, or has since given me such results. As knowing I need to empty my mind, relax my body and stimulate my energy centers tells me a lot more than quoteunquote 'imagine standing outside of your body'.
Along with the core skills and energy methods, Bruce outlines the common questions and pitfalls of the would-be projector, such as waking paralysis, achieving an altered state, exit tecniques, navigating whilst out of body, what to do, where to go, and working with the higher self. He also talks about the structure of the non-physical realms, heavenly dimensions and the nature of the afterlife. Not in a religious sense, but with full experience of how the dimensional levels are structured.
So, coming from a long time student of OBE's, Astral Dynamics is really the only book you need on the subject, cos imo, there's no better teacher out there.

If you are interested in astral projection or spiritual development this is a great buy

I am writing this review having purchased this and other Robert Bruce books - I cannot express how grateful I am that there are teachers out there who are willimg to share their knowledge in such a well written informative way.
You can tell by reading this book that the author really knows what he is talking about it's a real handbook for guidance to explore your greater self.
I have read many books on this subject by some other great teachers ie Robert Monroe, William Buhlman etc and I think that this book is a standout and a must read if this is your thing.
I have the other editions also and this one is a great update.
