Not as good as John's grip books!

To be honest I was a little disappointed in this booklet. I have several of the Iron Mind booklets and they are great. I have all of John's other books and booklets, again they are great. However, this title was a little lacking. Most of the info provided in this title can be found numerous places online. Those that can't are just variations of the exercises found in John's other books and his rope training system.

I give it 4 stars because the info is good and would be a very good start for anyone new to this type of training. However, anyone that owns John's other titles or anyone familiar with odd-object training probably won't find much new in this booklet.

If you like odd object lifting/training then this is the book for you...short book but to the point in everything you want to know in regards to strength training...the items you need you can either get for free, very cheap, or you can find them around the house about 90% of the time...highly recommend this book for any strength freaks or MMA fighters!!!

Excellent for more than just Architects

While most technical books on earthquake-resistant building design are laden with formulas and arcane language useful only to structural engineers, it is good to find with Professor Charleson's book one that clearly states the concepts that lead to good design practices that contribute to building safety in earthquake areas. In fact, many engineers in different countries would benefit from this book - both for the purpose of helping them explain concepts better to their clients and their consulting architects, and to better understand the design principles specific to earthquake resistance themselves. I would also recommend this book not only to architects, but to many government officials who would benefit from a better understanding of earthquake resistant design.

Andrew Charleson is from New Zealand, a country that has contributed many innovations in this field. He has also traveled and taught in other countries. His book, better than many from the United States, addresses the kinds of construction, including masonry infilled reinforced concrete frame construction, that are more commonly found in earthquake hazard regions in other parts of the world remote from North America, including India, Pakistan, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. Prof. Charleson has also referenced some of the icons of the Modern movement, such as Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye, by analyzing them as if it were in an earthquake area, to illustrate the kind of thinking that needs to be embraced early on in the creative design process. My complements also for the simple, consistent, yet effective computer generated graphics, and the choice of photographs from a variety of earthquake damage districts to illustrate the concepts. I highly recommend this book.

Extremely Comprehensive collection

If you are willing to pay a few more bucks, you will get this book that is loaded with GREAT music.

I am not a professional musician and I do not have the discipline to practice regularly. I am lucky if I play 10 minutes a day. This book is PERFECT for someone like me.

The music is divided into categories, so there is something for every musical taste and ability. There are "recorded" versions of 8 songs including "Day Tripper" and "Tears in Heaven." Easy Guitar (my speed) including such greats as "Dust in the Wind," "A Whiter Shade of Pale" and "Mambo #5." A few classical pieces and finger picking stuff. For the rocker, there are a number of songs with riffs!

The songs in this book are somewhat old; but for a single guitarist
you could probably get a few gigs from it. If you learned everything
in it and really knew how to gig you could make some money so four stars and the songs are popular.
